In winter, I experiment more with my make-up. In summer, it’s all about nudes or even no make-up at all. But with it being the party season, the sparkle, and the good old festive spirit, my make-up gets bolder and brighter.
So here’s three areas of my make-up I change at Christmas to add something different to my normal make-up routine.
For the last couple of years, it’s been lipsticks and lip products that have really defined by winter make-up. I find darker shades of red go really well, and of course, bright red lipstick… especially on Christmas Day. This year, I have also fell in love with deep browns and champagne colours. My collection includes Loreal and Revlon as I find they aren’t too expensive, you can get them at drugstores, and they go on and last really well.
I never used highlight until around last Christmas, and I think it works really well at this time of year. As the days get shorter a highlight can really pop with all the Christmas lights – so it’s always nice to put some on the add a bit of sparkle and definition to your face. I really like the Loreal pallet at the moment with the four different highlighters for different parts of your face.
When I’m not wearing lipstick, I normally go with bolder eyeliner. I don’t tend to put eyeliner on my bottom lashes or under my eyes, I prefer to go with a wing to make them look a bit more shapely, using a liquid eyeliner for the application because the brush is better and it lasts longer. I normally don’t put lipstick and eyeliner together because I find they look too overpowering on my face.
And there we go, that’s the three main areas I focus on to give my winter/ Christmas make-up a bit of a make-over. I’d love to hear about your seasonal make-up or the products that you use, so please leave a comment and let me know <3
