It may surprise you that about five months ago, I’d never tried coffee in my life. Then, bam! Someone made me a delicious, milky and sugary coffee and I’ve been hooked ever since. In fact, trying new coffee shops is becoming my favourite weekend activity.
With that in mind, I’d like to share with you my favourite coffee shops in and around Manchester!
One of my favourite coffee shops is Grindsmith. They have a location in Manchester city centre and one in Media City, which is the one I regularly go to. I love the interior design, the elegant cups and cutlery and the relaxed feel of Grindsmith, especially the one in Salford with it’s two floors. Their coffees are great too, and they also serve hot food which is great if I fancy eating out for breakfast.
Mancoco is located just behind Deansgate Locks in Manchester’s city centre and is a firm favourite coffee shop of mine. It’s half a coffee shop and half a roastery which is where they actually make their coffee beans. It has a nice industrial feel, and you’ll always see people in their with their laptops working away enjoying their delicious coffee.
Takk is named one of the best coffee shops in Manchester across social media, and there’s a good reason why. I’ve only visited once, but every time I have passed it’s rammed full of people. And that’s because as well as serving tasty Icelandic inspired coffee, it’s also a creative space where people can work together or independently. There’s also a lovely large bookshelf at the back full of reading materials, which I love.
Coffee shops are great places to work, and to some extent escape the stresses of outside life by sitting with a great book and lovely hot drink. These are just three of many great coffee shops in Manchester, and I can’t wait to explore more.
