El Camino – Manchester’s Hottest New Restaurant

If you like tacos, tequila and a good time, then El Camino is the place for you. It’s a new pop-up restaurant located in The Cotton Factory, offering delicious Mexican dishes and an experience unlike any Manchester has seen before. I was lucky enough to be invited to their launch party, and it’s safe to say it wasn’t just the food on the menu that was hot!

In Whitworth Locke aparthotel is the Cotton Factory. It’s a huge bar and restaurant space, providing pop-up restaurants with the chance to showcase what they have in store. This summer, it’s the turn of El Camino – a Mexican restaurant with a mouthwatering menu.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

When I arrived at The Cotton Factory, I was really impressed at the size of the place. You first enter the bar area, where there’s plenty of seats… then you keep walking through a gorgeous waiting area filled with plants and greenery, before entering another bar area. And then, there’s the actual restaurant section, which has gorgeous comfy booths.

When it comes to El Camino, I love the brand. Their logo is a cute little cactus with bright colours, and the staff wear vintage looking green Fila uniforms with El Camino written on the back. It’s all very fresh and cool, the theme I found throughout the whole of this restaurant.

MARGARITAS, MARGARITAS, AND MORE MARGARITAS

And it wasn’t just the aesthetic that impressed me. I was able to try their drinks menu, which was margaritas, Das Equis (beer), and Cava. My favourite was the margaritas, especially the frozen one. The food on the other hand was very very spicy. We tried the nachos with guacamole and chilli, as well as chicken tacos. The flavour was delicious, but my goodness, it was hot! If you love spice, El Camino is definitely a restaurant you need to try.

The party itself was really cool to be a part of. There was a DJ playing funky Mexican themed songs, and waiters and waitresses bringing out the food and drink for us to try… and while I tried my best to get some, they were so popular they were gone before I even realised they had arrived.

I’m very excited to go back to El Camino and try more of their menu, and I’m so pleased to have been a part of their launch party. The Cotton Factory is also amazing, and I can’t wait to try the other pop up restaurants that come to Manchester.

To see the delicious food El Camino are serving, take a look at their Instagram or website! And if you have a visit, please let me know what you think in the comments, I’d love to know!
