When I’m on the late shift at work, I love nothing more than enjoying a big old breakfast to get me through the day. And this time, I tried a cute little independent cafe at Media City, called Catena.
I’ve never heard of this place before, but I was attracted to it’s lovely decor. There’s little tables and chairs by the door, with hanging baskets and ‘Locally Sourced’ and ‘Made in Salford’ stickers on the window. They also state their food is made on the premises and completely fresh.
Inside has a real rustic feel. You’re immediately greeted and asked whether you’re staying in or taking out. We were then seated at a old-looking wooden table with some food and drinks menus. I picked an orange juice with the full English breakfast, without the beans of course!
The breakfast came on very stylish black and blue plates – covered in bacon, sausage, eggs, toast, tomato and a hash brown. Yum!
It all tasted delicious and was more than enough to fill my belly right up.
The cafe has a wonderful atmosphere, and that day there were a lot of people who work in Media City with their BBC lanyards going about their business. And, I saw on Catena’s instagram that a couple of hours after our visit the one and only Prue from the Bake Off visited! Can you believe that?
Have you been? I’m 100% going back to try their main menu, it looks delicious!
