As a Copywriter, I love to see new and exciting marketing campaigns – especially at Christmas. It’s the most important time of year for brands. So for Blogmas, I’m talking you through my favourite ones from this festive season!
There are three that stood out to me this year, so from three to one – here we go.
NUMBER 3: SAINSBURY’S
What I love about Sainsbury’s Christmas’ advert this year – and other Christmas adverts in the past – is their take on the school nativity. But this time, Sainsbury’s have turned it up a notch! I love the little girl singing, how she’s dressed as a star, the proud parents – and of course, when the little kid playing a plug goes into the socket. it never fails to make me laugh! School nativity’s are such a big part of remembering Christmas as a child, and I guess even more so when you have children of your own. And that’s why, Sainsbury’s Christmas advert is my number three this year.
NUMBER 2: DANCING ON ICE
This is probably the only Christmas advert that isn’t a business or brand as such, it’s a TV show! Anything with animated animals in will get my vote, and the polar bear and squirrel sliding around on the ice is just the cutest thing! It really love the bit at the end where the squirrel holds the polar bear up to finish. Very nice work ITV.
NUMBER 1: MCDONALDS
Ahhh! I love this advert and has to be my winner. It might be my favourite Christmas advert ever! Like I said before, anything with animated animals in will be my favourite, and that’s exactly what McDonalds have done. In previous years, they’re focused on getting the family together for a McDonalds, but this time they’ve used their carrots to fit in nicely with Santa and his reindeers. It’s done really well, and is very British which I love. Christmas is all about joy and that warm feeling insid, and this advert definitely achieves that.
What’s your favourite Christmas adverts this year? Let me know in the comments, and be sure to watch my top three here if you haven’t yet:
